About LGBTQIA+ Wedding Shopping

Language is powerful. As a company, we strive to create an inclusive and safe wedding space for all of our couples regardless of gender, size, or relationship type. There is still a gaping hole in the wedding industry when it comes to LGBTQIA+ representation and inclusion.

I am going to be honest with you, sitting and writing this article as a straight cis-women, I am not the expert here and am in no way trying to speak for the community. At NKIN we believe love is love and love is for all. We are continuing to listen to industry experts and our own customers to contribute positively to the options available for all marriers. We are always open to feedback and suggestions to grow our brand and find a product for every spouse to be out there.

Nearlywed Gifts.

If you or the nearlywed couple don't identify as a Bride or Groom, wedding shopping of any type can be difficult or down right impossible. That is why we strive to have unlimited printing options on every product available. All of our products that are printed in-house can be changed to reflect preferred titles or pronouns. The feedback that we get from our customers year after year is that they are tired of having the rainbow plastered on every product. While couples agree it can be nice, they would also like access to all the same types of cute and minimalist products that heterosexual monogamous couples have.

What are some good terms that couples have used over the past few years?

While again, we are not the experts, we have compiled a list of a few of the terms we have printed and pressed over the years. This is not a complete list, but may be a good starting point to help you find what's right of the big day.

Spouse-to-be:

Marrier

Celbrant

Betrothed

Nearlywed

Now the response we usually get is, "Ya, that all sounds great, but what products can this actually apply to?"  Anything and everything we print! That includes t-shirts, sweaters, robes, pajamas, bags, jackets, accessories, hats, socks, cards, labels, and so much more

Here are some of our favourites

Wedding Party Gifts

Similar with our nearlywed gifts, all printed in-house products can be changed to reflect different important roles within the wedding party.

Bridesman/Groomswoman

Simply using their name can also be a great alternative to wedding party titles. This is especially useful when picking wedding gifts, products with their name on them can be used over and over again. A sustainable alternative that your party members will cherish and adore.
